Recipes :)

I was asked for both the bread recipe from earlier today and the crabbies from NYE and am going to post them both now, while I am thinking about it :)

For the bread, I used a recipe for Raisin Bread and left out the raisins because C doesn't like them. I make a 1/2 pound loaf in the bread maker:

8.5oz water, 90-100* (1 c + 1 Tbsp)
2 2/3 C flour (I use 1/2 white and 1/2 wheat)
2 Tbsp dry milk
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp active dry yeast
3/4 cup raisins and 1/2 cup chopped nuts (we skip both of these)
1 - Add liquid to pan
2 -Add dry ingredients, except yeast to pan. Level it all out and divide the butter to put in the corners.
3 - Here is where I sprinkled in more cinnamon and sugar so it would be stronger...I made this Monday and the cinnamon was pretty faint.
4 - Make a well in the middle of dry ingredients and put the yeast in the well.
5 - If adding nuts/raisins - add during the kneeding.

Ours runs for 3 hours and 10 minutes so I set it to be ready when we are waking up. It is so good hot with butter. We ate the whole loaf for breakfast!

And crabbies. We do love us some crabbies! This recipe is in a book my mom made for us girls full of old family recipes. I just scanned in the page instead of typing it up (in hindsight, I should have done that for the bread too - lol). We just have to mention crabbies and my dad is heading to the store for ingredients! Oh and all three of my picky eaters LOVE these. There are never any left on the plate.

These were our New Year's Eve batch. I painted that plate when we were in AL - it has all of our names under the crabbies :)

  5. can't wait to try it- maybe we'll get a new fresh batch of oysters & hubby is out catching fish even as I type- we'll have a seafood party! these sound great!
what program did you use for the paper? is it a digital scrapbook program? love scrapbooking!

you asked me about skulpey- it really isn't messy! just cover a table with something you can throw away or wash so none of it sticks (it can be a little hard to get up from the actual work surface) but it doesn't just get everywhere!
If you have a Michaels Craft store near you- they are on sale this week for 4 for $5.00 - you may be able to pair that with a store coupon from the paper or print one online (you can usually just google it)

Love the plate! let me know if you try it- i also came across a set of napkin rings we made a while back- i'll post them soon!
