change

As Americans, we can't imagine leaving our young kids alone all day, even in our nice, safe homes. What about leaving them home alone for weeks or months? Now imagine leaving them on the street corner and not knowing when you would come back for them. Can't imagine it, can you? Me either. But this is a reality for many, many children in Cambodia every single day. Moms leave Cambodia to go into Thailand to find work and might not come back for days, months or ever. So where does that leave their kids?  Struggling to survive on the streets. Since I heard this last on Thursday night, I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. There is so much I would like to tell about my trip but this just keeps replaying in my mind. These kids have done nothing wrong. They were just born at the wrong place at the wrong time. How do you help so many kids? In our American "fix it" mindset, we just think we will adopt them all. Steve Hyde has such a greater vision though, he has a vision to change Cambodia, one child at a time. His ministry is so amazing. They work day after day and yes, they do make a difference....but the problem is just so big. Talking to him more, it is exciting to hear of his future plans and I am praying already about how our family can be a part of those plans. Please pray for Steve and his team as they change Cambodia, one child, one generation at a time.

  3. I think that ministry is so beautiful. So glad you guys are back home and safe, so proud of what you did there! :) The little girl in the photo is so precious. Fawn told me about the children being left, while their moms go to work. I can't imagine the heartbreak in all of that. It kills me to even think about it.
