diabetes

My 8 year old niece was diagnosed almost 2 years ago with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. I'll admit that I didn't have a clue about diabetes before her diagnosis. We had just spent a week together at Disney World and she was miserable, but they didn't know why. They took her in when they returned and received the diagnosis that would change her life. Watch this video to learn more about my sweet niece, and about the disease she is dealing with daily.

  1. Oh Leslie. Oh my goodness. I just love her! The video left me sobbing. I have been feeling sorry for myself the last few days b/c Kevin has type 2 dibetes and I have been grumbling about not being able to cook rice, pastas, etc. I have been so SELFISH!

Your niece is SO beautiful and so brave and I will pray everyday for a cure! She is a little fighter and a hero!

  2. Oh thanks, Nicolle. You aren't being selfish at all! It is a really yucky disease, any way you slice it. Her mom did a great job on the video. It explains the daily life of a child with diabetes better than I could.
