Crayfish Dissection 101

At Classical Conversations this week, we examined a crayfish and learned all about its exoskeleton. It was great fun, of course. Each family was able to take home a poor crayfish to examine some more, or if they chose, to dissect at home. P was sick yesterday and never got out of bed, so today we finally made time to dissect. Believe it or not, some people didn't want to take their critter home with them and we ended up with three of them, one each. My kids aren't scared of a little ol' crawdad ;)

First, we googled videos on dissecting crayfish and found the one we thought was best. I have no idea what I am doing so am glad there are others that do and will share their knowledge with us.

Crayfish finger puppets, anyone?

They clearly get their maturity from their father ;)

C decided to try to put his back together. lol

  3. You are stronger than me, I could never handle any of the dissection stuff in school. Your kids made me laugh though, looks like they had fun with it! :)
