Open Letter Friday (on Saturday)- Dear xxx-xxx-xxxx

A blogger I follow started this idea a few weeks back, and I thought I'd play along with her. Feel free to play along too. I bet you will feel better when you get it off your chest. And please link me up so I don't miss your post!

Dear xxx-xxx-xxxx,
I am going to assume that you desperately need to talk to me, since you call 44 times a day. I respect that. However, I am a busy lady so if you really need to talk to me, you are going to need to a) not call early or late....nothing to do with being busy, that just ticks me off and I don't answer....or b) leave a message! I ask very nicely on the machine, and I mean it. Believe it or not, I don't always have time to answer the phone, and normally don't answer if it doesn't have a name on there. So please...leave.a.message...or just leave.me.alone.
Much love,
Leslie

(I wrote this yesterday and I guess I forgot to post it! oops.)

  1. Tell it, girl! My favorite is: "Good! I was hoping to catch you while you guys were still doing school." :) In which case, I give the kids the "go NUTS" sign. (You've met my children, it's not a stretch) and then when the caller kindly offers to call back at a better time, I won't hear of it. Pretending like nothing is wrong, I profess "No, no, go ahead. The kids are just playing -- I've got all day." ;)

Oh my wicked mind is racing w/ *fun* ways to play this one... however, most involve the police arriving at your home. You simply must find better friends, Les. I'll be praying for you!

  2. Hmmm....I think you have used that "I've got all day" line on me ;) Thanks for the prayers...you know I need them! Oh, if there is a name on there and it is a "courtesy call", I let Paige take it and talk their ear off (tell her to recite the timeline or something to them). This particular number didn't say who it was. I finally gave in and answered and it was National Geographic. Really!?! No, I don't want a subscription. Thanks.

  3. Really I think I only called 41 times, so get your facts straight first before you post about me ;)

  4. Oh, I hate when people do that! I am really funny about the phone. I don't answer it before 10 am or after 10 pm. I also won't answer if I don't recognize the number (or if I do recognize it and realize it's my mother in law).
